The seventh edition of the Tullamore Annual was launched at the end of November. A Lions Club project, the annual has so far raised close on €150,000, making it the club’s biggest fundraiser.
Members of the club undertake all the work involved, except for the design and printing of the annual, which is done locally. It is a full-colour, high quality print publication of 180 pages.
Although only 20% of the annual is devoted to advertising, the bulk of the revenue comes from advertising..
The new issue features 12 articles on local food producers; six on local service organisations; 25 are profiles/interviews and tributes featuring well-known and less well-known local people; 18 feature local sports people and sporting achievements; 10 articles deal with local history matters and, importantly, five young writers are published. The annual, which costs €15 is sold through local retail outlets.
Tullamore Lions Club publishes the annual and owns the copyright to it. A complimentary copy of the annual will be sent to any interested Lions Club. Requests should be sent to Denis Doherty, Charleville View, Tullamore, Co. Offaly R35 RX40 enclosing stamps to the value of €10, to cover postage.
